Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Chris Wallitner (b.1997) is a Central Washington University graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Composition. During his time at CWU, he sang in the CWU Chamber Choir, the CWU Wildcat Chorus, and the University Chorale. He also played upright bass in the CWU Wind Ensemble, CWU Symphony Orchestra, as well as various jazz ensembles. He studied composition with Dr. Martin Kennedy and Prof. Vijay Singh. He studied conducting with Dr. Gary Weidenaar and Dr. Nikolas Caoile. He worked on campus as a music theory tutor, as well as an audio engineer recording recitals and various other performances for fellow classmates.
A lover of musical theatre, Chris serves as Resident Bassist for ManeStage Theatre Company in Puyallup, WA. Since 2015, he has played over a dozen full length productions with ManeStage.
Chris served a multitude of schools and community ensembles during the pandemic by creating virtual ensemble videos. He continues to produce recordings and videos for various ensembles all over the Pacific Northwest now that live music is returning to the world.
Chris currently lives in Western Washington. He is an active performer, and resource for his community. Chris loves to tell stories through music and thereby has found his passion in choir, but he enjoys collaborating with all ensemble types and skill levels. He is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.
